2017 Trackside Music Festival Artist Lineup
Melissa Megan
Sunday, July 2nd / Side-Track Stage
Being the first Country artist to ever win the Honey Jam Barbados prize at Honey Jam Canada is no easy feat, but if you watched rising Country star Melissa Megan do it, you just might think it is. From Windsor, Ontario, Melissa Megan is storming into the Canadian Country scene, captivating her audience completely with her hypnotic vocals and commanding – yet undemanding – stage presence, always in her signature lace.
Following her Honey Jam Canada and Barbados experiences, Melissa continues to develop her artistry. She was hand-selected to work with Lang Bliss of world-renowned Tom Jackson Productions (Nashville) and has spent time honing her craft with Elaine Overholt, one of the top vocal coaches in the world. She has taken the stage in Windsor, London, Toronto, Calgary, Bridgetown and Nashville, including the iconic Bluebird Café. Melissa has been writing since she was 12 years old and has worked with writers across Canada and the United States. Her skills were most recently highlighted when she was granted an Honourable Mention in the Canadian Songwriting Competition for her song “Grow Up,’ co-written with Beth Marie Anderson. Melissa also won the Country 104 Homegrown Showcase, granting her a spot at Trackside Music Festival.
Her debut EP, IT’S MELISSA MEGAN is currently being recorded at two-time CCMA- winning MCC Recording Studio (Calgary) through the direction of Grammy-nominated producer Johnny Gasparic and Graham Sharkey (George Canyon) and is due out later this year. With a little honey and a touch of lace, this soulful powerhouse is just getting started.
Thanks for KICKIN' IT Trackside!
